How To Fit The Bride Zeta IV In Your Toyota Starlet EP82
The Bride Zeta IV is a side mount, fixed back bucket seat, so in a Toyota Starlet EP82 it needs a BRIDE rail that takes a side mount seat. The EP82 has five BRIDE rail listings. Two of them take the Zeta IV: the FO, which slides, and the FX, which is fixed and FIA approved. The other three are for different seats.

Fit the Zeta IV on the BRIDE FO or FX Super Seat Rail for the EP82.
Both are side mount rails, 290mm x 395mm, that sit the seat up to 30mm lower, and each order is one rail for one seat.
What you need
A Zeta IV fits an EP82 as two parts: the seat, and a BRIDE rail made for the EP82 that bolts to the car’s original floor mounting points. The Zeta IV mounts from its sides, so it takes a side mount rail. Each rail order supplies one rail for one seat, so a pair of seats needs two rails.
The rails are handed. In a right hand drive EP82 the driver’s rail is the right side, T009FO or T009FX, and the passenger’s rail is the left side, T010FO or T010FX. The listings are for the EP82 with the 4E-FTE 1331cc engine, and the chassis code has to match exactly.
The seat and the two rails that take it
Choose the Zeta IV version, then the FO or the FX, and set the side on the rail listing.

FO or FX: sliding or fixed
The two rails share the same mounting size and the same lowering, so the choice is how the seat attaches. The FO is a sliding rail, so you keep fore and aft adjustment. The FX is a fixed rail with an aluminium side stay, FIA approved and built for competition.
Bride’s wording for both rails is by series: they take the Bride fixed bucket seat series, excluding the ZETA III Type-XL and the ZODIA. The Zeta IV is a fixed back bucket seat. The listing does not name it, so we confirm the exact Zeta IV against the rail before you order.
| Rail | Type | Part numbers | Mounting | Size | Lowering | FIA |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BRIDE FO | Sliding | T009FO driver, T010FO passenger | Side mount | 290mm x 395mm | Up to 30mm, vehicle dependent | Not stated |
| BRIDE FX | Fixed, aluminium side stay | T009FX driver, T010FX passenger | Side mount | 290mm x 395mm | Up to 30mm, vehicle dependent | FIA approved |
Figures come from the rail listings, and the 290mm length has a tolerance of 5mm either way.
The three rails that do not suit it
The EP82 has three more BRIDE rail listings, and none of them is the one for a Zeta IV.
The RO and the MO are bottom mount rails. The RO is for the Gias, Stradia, Cuga, Vorga and similar Bride ranges, and the MO is for the Euroster, Digo and similar ranges. A seat that mounts from its sides cannot go on a bottom mount rail.
The XL is a side mount rail like the FO and FX. Its pattern is wider, 290mm x 430mm. It is for the ZIEG IV Wide and the ZETA III Type-XL, so it is 35mm wider across than the FO and FX.
Which Zeta IV
There are four Zeta IV listings. All of them are side mount, fixed back seats listed for a 28 to 32 inch waist and all heights. They differ in approval and trim.
- Zeta IV: FIA approved, black, graduation logo or red trim, silver FRP or super aramid black shell
- Zeta IV Classic Fujiwara Edition: FIA approved, black and white
- Zeta IV King: FIA approved, HANS friendly, graduation logo or red
- Zeta IV Reims: road and track approved, not FIA, in black, black and blue or black and red

Four versions of the seat
Pick the approval and trim you want, and the same FO or FX rail goes underneath whichever one you choose.

Ordering the seat and rail
Bride products are special order from Japan, ordered specifically for you. Once processing is complete they cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded. That makes it worth getting the car, chassis code and side right first.
Send us the registration and which side the seat is for, and we will confirm the part before you order. The rail listings say seat height, centre offset and clearance vary by car, seat shell and backrest angle, so we also go through the seat you have chosen with you. Our guides to seat bolt patterns, bucket seat mounting and side mounts explain how the layers stack, and our Bride Stradia III fitting guide for the GT86 shows the same kind of Bride rail job on another car.
Roll cages for the EP82
If the EP82 is going to be a competition car, the seat and rail are one half of the build. Custom Cages make roll cages for the EP82 on this site. The cage decides where the harness shoulder straps can anchor, so plan the two together.

Questions about the Bride Zeta IV in an EP82
What are the part numbers?
For a right hand drive EP82 the driver’s rail is the right side: T009FO for the sliding FO or T009FX for the fixed FX, and the passenger’s rail is the left side: T010FO or T010FX.
What is the XL rail for?
The XL is a side mount rail with a wider 290mm x 430mm pattern, for the ZIEG IV Wide and the ZETA III Type-XL, and it is 35mm wider across than the FO and FX.
Is every Zeta IV FIA approved?
No. The standard Zeta IV, the Classic Fujiwara Edition and the King are FIA approved. The Reims is road and track approved and is not an FIA seat.
Can I cancel or return a Bride rail?
Bride products are special order from Japan. Once processing is complete they cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded. Send us the registration and the side first and we will confirm the part.
What we would buy
Garreth
Garreth's top tip
Decide whether you want the seat to slide before you pick the rail. The FO keeps the adjustment. The FX is the fixed, FIA approved rail for a competition car.
Either way the Zeta IV sits on the same 290mm x 395mm pattern, so the seat choice and the rail choice stay separate.
Cameron
Cameron's fitting view
I check three things on an EP82: that it is the right chassis code, which side the seat is for, and that the rail is a side mount one. The RO and MO are bottom mount. The XL is the wider pattern, so none of them is the rail for a Zeta IV.
Send me the registration and the seat version and I will confirm the part number before you order.
Want your Zeta IV and rail checked against your EP82?
Tell us your registration, which side the seat is for and the Zeta IV version you like. Cally, our digital receptionist, takes your details. Cameron then comes back to you with the rail and part number before you order.
