Honda Civic With Mirco RS2 Seats And Schroth Harnesses
Customer cars, March 2021
We supplied one of our customers with a pair of Mirco RS2 Limited Edition FIA bucket seats, a set of Schroth harnesses and the roll cage for their seventh generation Honda Civic. The car is finished and ready to go on track.
It is a good example of how the seat, the harness and the cage work as one system. Here is what went in, and what to think about if you are building something similar.
- Car: a seventh generation Honda Civic track car
- Seats: a pair of Mirco RS2 Limited Edition FIA bucket seats
- Harnesses: Schroth, in red

What is on this page
The car
The Civic is a seventh generation car, prepared for track use and finished in red with black wheels. Inside, it has a roll cage, which is what makes a proper seat and harness set up possible.
A car like this needs to hold the driver still. In a road seat with a standard belt, you brace against the car with your legs and arms through every corner. With a snug shell and a harness pulled tight, the seat does that work and your hands and feet are free to drive.
The Mirco RS2 seats
The RS2 is the largest of Mirco's FIA seats in its RS and GT range, with more lumbar depth and a wider shoulder area than the GT and RS1. It is homologated to FIA 8855-1999, takes a four or six point harness and is HANS compatible.
The head support and the high side bolsters are what matter in a track car. Paired with a proper harness, they keep the driver planted without having to tense up to stay in the seat.

Harnesses and the cage
The seats are paired with Schroth harnesses in red, which stand out against the black seats. A harness only works as well as its mounting, and the cage gives solid points to take the shoulder straps at the right angle.
Garreth's advice is to plan the seat, the harness and the cage together, because each one affects where the others go. Our guide on how to fit a motorsport harness covers the angles and anchor points.

Doing the same with your Civic
We list M2 direct fit subframes for several Civic generations, including the EG, the EK and EJ, the EP3 and EP2 and the FN2. They bolt to the car’s original seat mounting points. Choose the seat for your body shape first, then match the frame for your generation.
If you are not sure which Mirco suits you, the RS2 is the roomiest of the three; the RS1 is a tighter shell for smaller builds. Send us your height, weight and waist size with the car and we will put the package together.
