Customer Question: Can I Use Corbeau Seats With M2, PCI, And Other Vehicle Fitting Kits?
Seat fitting guide
M2 Motorsport and PCI Racing kits are a popular way to fit a bucket seat. Each one gives you a vehicle-specific frame that bolts to the car's own seat mounting points, often with sliding runners and side mounts built in. So it is natural to ask whether a Corbeau seat will go straight on one.
The short answer is not straight on any more, but with a little modification. Corbeau's side-mounted seats now use M10 fixings, while M2 and PCI side mounts are drilled for M8, so the holes need drilling out slightly for M10. Here is why, and the routes that work.
- Corbeau side-mount seats now use M10 fixings
- M2 and PCI kits are set up for M8 side-mount seats
- On an M2 or PCI kit, drill the holes out slightly for M10: a small modification
- For a Corbeau: use M10 side mounts made for Corbeau, on a suitable frame
- For a straight bolt-on M2 or PCI kit: choose another side-mount brand

Why M2 and PCI kits are popular
M2 Motorsport and PCI Racing make vehicle-specific seat frames for a long list of cars. They bolt to the car’s standard seat mounting points, so nothing is drilled in the floor and the original seats can go back in later. Depending on the kit, you get:
- a frame made for your car
- sliding runners for fore and aft adjustment, on the sliding versions
- side mounts ready for a side-mount bucket seat
They take a lot of guesswork out of fitting a bucket seat, and for most side-mount seats with the standard M8 fixings they are a tidy, bolt-in answer.
Why Corbeau seats need a small modification
Most side-mount bucket seats use M8 bolts through the flanges on the side of the shell. Corbeau's side-mounted seats used to bolt straight on too, but Corbeau have changed to M10 fixings.
M2 and PCI side mounts are drilled for M8, so a Corbeau side-mount seat no longer bolts straight on: the holes need drilling out slightly to take M10. Every other side-mount bucket brand we sell uses the M8 fixings these kits are built around.

Drilling the kit’s side mount holes out slightly for M10 is a small modification, and it is the only one we suggest: never mix M8 and M10 hardware. If you are unsure about doing it, drop us an email or open a chat with the seat and car before you start. The seat mounting holds you in place in an accident, so it has to be done properly.
Route one: keep the Corbeau, change the mounts
If you have your heart set on a Corbeau seat, fit it with side mounts made for Corbeau’s M10 fixings. There are two options on our site:
- Endurance Motorsport steel M10 side mounts for Corbeau seats, drilled for M10 from new, FIA approved, sold as one pair or as two pairs for a two-seat car.
- Corbeau Pro-Team side mounts, Corbeau’s own brackets, available in M10, in 35 degree, 90 degree, 90 degree extended and restricted space versions.
Corbeau list the Revolution X, Sprint X and Revenge X as using M10 inserts. If you have an older Corbeau seat, measure the side holes before ordering, as some earlier seats used a different pitch.
The side mounts then need a frame in the car. Tell us the car and the seat and we will match a frame that suits them.

Route two: keep the kit, change the seat
If you want the simplicity of an M2 or PCI kit, choose a side-mount seat from another brand. Seats from Sparco, OMP, Cobra, Recaro and the other side-mount brands we sell use the fixings these kits are built for, so they go on without adapting anything.
Garreth’s advice is to sit in a few before choosing. The shell size and shape matter more to how the seat holds you than the badge on the headrest, and we have a wide range on display to compare.
Checking before you order
Seat fitting is a stack: frame, runners if you want them, side mounts, then the seat. Each layer has to suit the one above and below it. Our guide to base mount or side mount walks through the stack, and our seat bolt patterns guide maps the patterns across the brands we sell.
If the car is used in competition, check the seat, the side mounts and the installation with your scrutineer before the event. And if you are unsure at any point, drop us an email or open a chat with the seat and car, and we will confirm the parts before anything ships.
Can I fit a Corbeau side-mount seat to an M2 or PCI kit?
Yes, with a little modification. Corbeau side-mount seats now use M10 fixings, while M2 and PCI side mounts are drilled for M8, so the holes need drilling out slightly for M10. Ask us if you are unsure.
Can I drill out the M2 or PCI side mounts for M10 bolts?
