Cobra 2025 Fibreglass Bucket Seats Now On Display
Showroom news, January 2025
Our 2025 delivery of Cobra fibreglass bucket seats is in and on display. The FIA seats carry 2025 dated labels, so they start the new season with their full homologation period ahead of them.
The display takes in four of Cobra's FIA seats, two with head supports and two without, in standard and GT sizes, alongside the Nogaro seats for road and track day cars. Here is how the range breaks down and what separates each one.
- Cobra's 2025 fibreglass seats are on the showroom display
- FIA seats carry 2025 dated FIA 8855-1999 labels
- Head supports: Evolution and Sebring
- Without head supports: Suzuka and Imola
- Standard and larger GT shells, with Pro-Fit cushions
- Nogaro Circuit and Club Sport for road and track days, not FIA

Pro-Fit cushions and GT shells
Two things run through Cobra’s FIA range. The first is Pro-Fit: the base, back and leg cushions come in low, medium and high thicknesses and can be swapped, so the seat can be packed out or opened up to suit the driver. The second is size. Each seat comes in a standard shell and a larger GT shell for bigger drivers.
Between the two, most drivers can get a close fit from one of these seats. Garreth’s advice is to sit in both the standard and the GT version before deciding, because the cushions can make a standard shell feel roomier or a GT shell feel tighter than you expect.
Seats with head supports
Cobra Evolution. An FIA 8855-1999 fibreglass seat with an open head support design. It gives good side protection without the closed surround that makes some deep sided seats awkward to climb into, which matters in a car you get in and out of often. It is the tallest of Cobra’s fibreglass FIA shells at 935mm, is fully HANS compatible, and takes a four, five or six point harness.
Cobra Sebring. Cobra’s seat with fuller head protection and deep side bolsters, built for circuit racing and longer events where support around the head and shoulders is wanted. Like the Evolution, it comes in standard and GT sizes with Pro-Fit cushions.
Seats with head supports suit competition and track cars. They do limit how far you can turn your head, so for a car that also does plenty of road miles, one of the seats without head supports is often the easier choice.
All of the FIA seats here are side mount and sold as the seat only, so they need side mounts and a frame for the car.

Seats without head supports
Cobra Suzuka. An FIA fibreglass seat with deep side bolsters and no head wings, which makes it a practical choice for a car used on track and on the road.
Cobra Imola. Another FIA fibreglass seat without head wings, with a supportive shape for track and competition use. Both the Suzuka and the Imola come in standard and GT shells with Pro-Fit cushions.

Nogaro seats for road and track days
Not every car needs an FIA seat. For road cars and track day cars, the Cobra Nogaro range uses a one piece fibreglass shell with a GT style shape that is comfortable over long distances. The Nogaro seats are road and track approved but have no FIA homologation, so they are not for events that require an FIA seat.
The Nogaro Circuit is trimmed in Amalfi with a Dinamica suede centre or other combinations, and the Nogaro Club Sport uses the same shell in cloth or velour for less money. Both have harness slots in the shoulders and a long backrest that suits taller drivers. They are side mount too.
What the 2025 label means
An FIA 8855-1999 seat is homologated for five years from the date on its label, not from the date you buy it. A seat with a 2025 label bought at the start of 2025 gives you the whole of that period. Cobra make their seats in the UK, and we have the range here to sit in, so you can choose the seat, the size and the cushions in one visit.
Which Cobra FIA seats have head supports?
The Evolution and the Sebring. The Suzuka and the Imola do not.
What is Cobra Pro-Fit?
A system of low, medium and high thickness cushions for the base, back and legs that can be swapped to fit the driver.
What is the difference between a standard and a GT Cobra seat?
The GT is the larger shell of the same seat, for bigger drivers.
Is the Cobra Nogaro FIA approved?
No. The Nogaro Circuit and Club Sport are road and track approved, for road and track day use.
How long is a 2025 dated FIA seat valid?
Five years from the date on its label.
