Latest Mirco Bucket Seat Delivery Completes Our In-Store FIA Display
Our latest Mirco delivery brought more than just a restock of popular bucket seats. Alongside completing our Mirco showroom display, we also received a bespoke Mirco S3000 finished in a striking black and grey velour trim, adding another unique option for customers to see, compare, and try in person.
The Mirco S3000 has developed a strong reputation among track day enthusiasts who want the appearance and support of a modern motorsport bucket seat without necessarily needing FIA homologation. Its integrated head support immediately sets it apart from many other track day seats currently available, offering a level of upper body support that’s usually associated with much more expensive FIA competition seats. This makes it an excellent choice for spirited road driving, dedicated track day cars, simulator builds, and performance projects where driver support and comfort are priorities.
Rather than displaying the standard all-black version, we’ve chosen to showcase a bespoke specification featuring black and grey velour upholstery. The contrasting centre panels give the seat a distinctive factory-inspired appearance while demonstrating just one of the many ways a Mirco seat can be personalised. It’s a subtle design that suits a wide variety of interiors, proving that a bespoke seat doesn’t have to be bright or heavily customised to stand out.
To make purchasing even easier, we’ve created a dedicated online listing for this exact specification. Customers who like the appearance of the seat currently displayed in our showroom can order the same black and grey version for immediate dispatch or collection, avoiding the wait normally associated with bespoke production. If you’d rather create something completely unique, our standard Mirco S3000 listing remains available, giving you access to Mirco’s extensive range of trim colours, materials, shell finishes, stitching options, and embroidery so you can build a seat that’s tailored to your own project.
Whether you’re looking for a supportive track day seat, planning a custom interior, or simply want to experience the Mirco S3000 before buying, our latest showroom addition offers the perfect opportunity to see one of Mirco’s most distinctive non-FIA bucket seats up close.
Why Choose the Bespoke Black and Grey Version?
Although the standard black Mirco S3000 remains a popular option, the bespoke black and grey version offers something a little more individual straight out of the box.
The contrasting grey centre sections subtly change the character of the seat without making it look overly bold or out of place. It works particularly well in modern interiors featuring silver trim, grey stitching, brushed aluminium finishes, or lighter dashboard materials, while still retaining the understated appearance many enthusiasts prefer.
Another advantage is convenience. Rather than spending time selecting trim colours and waiting for a bespoke build to be manufactured, this version has already been configured using one of our favourite combinations and is available for immediate dispatch or collection.
It’s a great option for customers who like the appearance of a customised seat but want to avoid the lead time that often comes with a made to order product.
Why Choose the Mirco S3000?
The Mirco S3000 occupies a unique position within the Mirco range.
Unlike Mirco’s FIA competition seats, the S3000 has been developed specifically for fast road and track day use. This allows Mirco to offer many of the design features normally associated with motorsport seats while keeping the overall cost considerably lower.
Perhaps the biggest advantage is the integrated head support. Most non FIA bucket seats feature a traditional open shoulder design, whereas the S3000 incorporates substantial head containment that provides additional upper body support during spirited driving and track sessions.
For many drivers, this creates the perfect compromise. You benefit from the aggressive appearance, improved driving position, and additional support of a modern containment seat without paying for FIA homologation that may never be needed.
Combined with its deep bucket design, supportive leg bolsters, and comfortable seating position, the S3000 offers a level of support that’s difficult to find in many other track day seats currently available.

A Closer Look at the Mirco S3000
The Mirco S3000 has been designed for enthusiasts who want the driving position and support of a modern motorsport bucket seat without stepping up to a full FIA-approved competition model. It bridges the gap between a traditional track day seat and a race seat, making it an excellent option for customers who regularly enjoy fast road driving, track days, and performance car events but don’t require FIA homologation for competitive motorsport.
One of the most distinctive features of the S3000 is its integrated head support. This is a design normally associated with FIA competition seats, yet it’s rarely found on non FIA track day seats. The head support doesn’t just give the seat a more aggressive appearance, it also provides increased lateral support around the upper body, helping to keep the driver securely positioned during high speed cornering and reducing unnecessary movement behind the wheel.
The rest of the shell has been designed with support in mind. Deep leg bolsters help hold the lower body in place under heavy braking, while the pronounced hip and shoulder bolsters create a secure seating position without feeling overly restrictive. This makes the S3000 comfortable enough for road use while still providing the confidence and stability many drivers are looking for during track sessions.
Our current showroom model is upholstered in a bespoke black and grey velour trim, giving customers the opportunity to see one of Mirco’s custom finishes in person. The grey centre panels contrast nicely with the black outer sections, creating a subtle factory-inspired look that would suit a wide range of vehicle interiors. It’s a great example of how a few carefully chosen options can completely change the appearance of a seat while maintaining a clean, professional finish.
Although this is the specification currently on display in our showroom, it’s only one example of what’s possible. Mirco offers well over 250 different combinations across its bucket seat range, allowing customers to personalise almost every aspect of the seat. Trim materials can be changed to suit the intended use, with options including traditional velour and breathable 3D spacer fabric. Customers can also choose from a wide selection of stitching colours, embroidered logos, shell finishes, contrasting centre panels, and many other bespoke options.
This level of personalisation means the S3000 can be tailored to almost any build. Whether you’re matching an existing interior, coordinating with your car’s exterior colour, or creating something completely unique, the seat can be configured to reflect your own style while retaining all of the support and comfort that makes the S3000 such a popular choice.
Another feature that makes the S3000 particularly appealing is its value. Many seats with integrated head support sit within the FIA motorsport market, bringing with them a higher purchase price that isn’t always necessary for track day enthusiasts. The S3000 delivers much of the same modern styling, upper body support, and confidence-inspiring driving position without the additional cost of FIA homologation. For many customers, it represents the ideal balance between performance, comfort, appearance, and affordability.

Driver and Vehicle Fitment
Choosing the correct bucket seat isn’t just about comfort. Making sure it fits both you and your vehicle is equally important.
The Mirco S3000 sits towards the wider end of the bucket seat market, particularly around the upper section of the shell. It measures 600mm across the shoulders, making it noticeably wider than many traditional bucket seats. By comparison, around 580mm is considered fairly typical for many bucket seats and is generally easier to install in smaller vehicles.
Because of the integrated head support, it’s particularly important to consider the available space around the B pillars, door apertures, and any existing roll cage. These are often the areas where head-supported seats encounter clearance issues, especially in compact hatchbacks and smaller sports cars. We always recommend measuring your vehicle carefully before ordering to ensure there is sufficient room for both the seat and its shoulder supports.
Fortunately, the lower section of the shell is much more accommodating. The base measures 470mm wide, allowing the seat to fit more comfortably between the door cards and centre console than the shoulder measurements might initially suggest.
Internally, the seat measures approximately 385mm across the hips, making it well suited to drivers with a waist size of around 32 to 38 inches. This gives the S3000 a comfortable amount of space while still providing the secure driving position expected from a bucket seat with integrated head support.
Installation and Mounting
Like most composite shell bucket seats, the Mirco S3000 is designed for side mounting only.
The shell uses the common 345mm side mounting bolt pattern, making it compatible with many vehicle specific subframes, side mounts, and sliding runner kits currently available. This gives installers plenty of flexibility when setting the seating position, allowing the height and recline angle to be adjusted to suit the driver.
For road and track day builds, pairing the S3000 with a sliding runner kit allows the seat to remain adjustable while maintaining a strong and secure installation. Alternatively, drivers building a more focused project may prefer a fixed mounting arrangement for maximum rigidity and the lowest possible seating position.
As with any bucket seat installation, it’s worth checking clearance around the transmission tunnel, door cards, roll cage, and roofline before final installation, particularly in smaller vehicles where space can become limited.
