A Stunning Showcase: Bespoke Mirco Bucket Seats Arrive
Showroom news, November 2024
This week a delivery of Mirco FIA bucket seats arrived at our showroom, and among them were several bespoke seats our customers had designed for themselves. Each one came through the showroom for a check before going on to its owner, and they were too good not to share.
There was a Mirco Classic in black and red, a Mirco GT with a yellow shell and matching stitching, and a matching pair of black vinyl seats with red stitching, an RS1 and an RS7. The same delivery also completes a full display of Mirco FIA seats in the showroom.

What is on this page
Mirco Classic in black and red
The Classic is one of Mirco’s longest standing FIA seats, and this one shows how much a trim colour changes it. The outer sides are black, and the cushion, backrest and shoulder pads are bright red, with red around the harness slots too. It is a bold look that still sits well in a black race car interior.
It is a good example of the smallest change making the biggest difference. The shape and the FIA approval are exactly those of the standard Classic; only the colours are the customer’s own.
Mirco GT with a yellow shell
Next was a Mirco GT in black vinyl with its fibreglass shell painted bright yellow, matching yellow stitching throughout and personal embroidery on the backrest. The shell colour shows along the sides and around the harness slots, so the seat stands out even from the back of the car.
Vinyl is a practical trim for a seat like this: it is hard wearing and wipes clean, and it gives the stitching a crisp line to follow.

A black and red RS1 and RS7 pair
The last of the bespoke seats was a pair in black vinyl with red stitching and red embroidered logos: a Mirco RS1 and a Mirco RS7, both Limited Edition. They are two different shapes, chosen for two different drivers, but in the same trim they look like a set once they are in the car.
That is a useful trick for a car with two regular drivers of different sizes. Each gets the shell that fits, and the matching trim keeps the interior looking deliberate.

What you can change on a Mirco
Mirco build their seats to order, and they offer more than 250 colour options. Between them, these seats show most of what can be changed:
- Trim material, such as vinyl, velour, suede or 3D spacer fabric.
- Trim colours, including different colours on different panels.
- Stitching colour, matching or contrasting.
- Embroidery, such as a name on the backrest.
- Shell colour, from a bright yellow like the GT’s to something quieter.
Garreth’s advice is to choose the shape first, by sitting in it, and the colours second. A seat that fits is worth more than one that looks right.
A full Mirco FIA display in the showroom
This delivery also completes our display of Mirco FIA bucket seats, so the range can be seen and sat in, in one place. To keep things simple, the display seats are trimmed in standard black 3D spacer fabric or velour, two of Mirco’s most versatile trims, which also means they can go straight out for dispatch or collection.
If you want something more personal, try the shapes on the display and then design your own trim with us. The FIA approval on each of these seats has an expiry date, which our guide to FIA 8855-1999 and 8855-2021 seats explains.
