Sparco Competition H-2 Pull Down
The Pull Down version is one of the most widely used harnesses in circuit racing. The shoulder straps are tightened by pulling the adjusters down towards the driver’s waist, allowing many drivers to achieve a very secure fit while seated in the car.

Harnesses and HANS Devices

HANS stands for Head and Neck Support. It is a safety device worn around the driver’s shoulders underneath the racing harness and is designed to reduce the forces placed on the head and neck during a heavy frontal impact. In many forms of motorsport, a HANS device is now mandatory and has become one of the biggest advancements in driver safety over the last two decades.
For a HANS device to work correctly, the shoulder straps of the harness need to sit neatly within the shoulder guides moulded into the device.
This is where shoulder strap width becomes extremely important.
Harnesses that use 2 inch FHR specific shoulder webbing are designed specifically for this purpose. The narrower straps sit perfectly within the HANS guides, helping to keep the belts correctly positioned throughout an impact while reducing the risk of movement or slippage.
The following Sparco harnesses all use 2 inch FHR shoulder webbing.

The Sparco Competition H-3 uses traditional 3 inch shoulder straps instead. While this wider webbing offers excellent load distribution across the shoulders, it doesn’t sit inside the HANS guides in the same way as a dedicated FHR harness. Instead, the webbing sits over the top of the guides, which can affect how the HANS device functions during an impact.
For drivers regularly using a HANS device, one of the H-2 harnesses or the new Pro H-9 Endurance harness is generally the better choice.
Seat Compatibility for 6-Point Harnesses

To use a 6 point racing harness correctly, you must have a bucket seat designed with five dedicated harness openings.

Many non FIA bucket seats do not include the central base opening required for the anti submarine straps, while sports reclining seats generally do not support six point harnesses at all.
