The Custom Cages BMW E46 4dr Step 2 International Multipoint T45 Roll Cage Kit is FIA certified, and MSUK compliant, meaning this cage can be used for most motorsport disciplines. Your roll cage will arrive shrink wrapped in durable black plastic and will include:
- CNC laser-cut and end-formed tubes
- Footplates & gussets, laser cut and folded
- Weld test sample included
- Buildmaster included — every Roll Cage part has a unique sticker ID to help locate the correct part; this is used during checking and packing and is signed off twice
- Important documents – declaration forms and fitting guides included
- Unique ID plaque – do not lose this; the ID plaques are unique to each individual cage kit and must be welded to the cage during installation
- Installed images are available on request

Multipoint (weld-in) roll cage:
The BMW UK 2/4 Door Step 2 Multipoint Roll Cage features a minimum 8-point attachment design. However, because the roll cage is engineered to fit very closely to the body shell, it is standard practice to weld the cage to the shell at an additional 8 to 10 points — and sometimes even more. This results in a minimum of 16 attachment points once fully installed.
The roll cage is fully FIA compliant and has been manufactured using FIA-prescribed tube sizes. This ensures the cage complies with all current FIA regulations and makes it eligible for use in all FIA-sanctioned events.
Optional differential mount tubes, highlighted in grey, are not included as part of the standard roll cage kit and are only available as optional extras. These additional tubes add approximately 5 kg in weight.
This BMW UK 2/4 Door Step 2 Multipoint Roll Cage is FIA certificated.
FIA Certificated Cages:
Fully certificated roll-cage designs give a distinct advantage over roll-cages constructed to minimum compliance as they are constructed using a small diameter / thinner gauge tube, thus giving a considerable weight saving.

- Stress-Tested Engineering – Each design is derived from a 3D scan, FEA tested to verify its integrity, stiffness, and optimal load paths. The FEA testing is completed by an independent FIA test house.
- Weight Savings – On certain models, you can see a weight saving of up to 20 kg lighter than equivalent minima roll cages — a crucial advantage in competitive motorsport.
- Global Acceptance – FIA certification ensures global recognition and eligibility for competition.
- Increased Vehicle Value – Professionally installed certificated cages can enhance resale value and marketability.
A roll cage design must comply with the MSA/FIA technical regulations published in the MS UK Blue book. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure his/her roll cage complies with the technical regulations appropriate to the event they are competing in.
