Customer question / Compatibility

Brand mixing can work when every interface is confirmed

The car sees the vehicle frame. The seat sees its side mounts or base pattern. Those joining dimensions decide compatibility, not whether the logos match.

The short version

List the installation from the floor upwards: vehicle, frame, runners if used, side mounts if used, then seat. Confirm the exact part at each layer. Corbeau uses more than one mounting route across its range.

Do not make incompatible holes line up by drilling the seat

Use only mounting points and supports permitted for the exact seat. Fabrication belongs at the vehicle installation layer and needs competent assessment.

01 / Seat interface

Start with side mount or base mount

Some Corbeau fixed shells mount at the sides, while reclining and other models use holes underneath. Record the exact seat and current drawing. Side-mounted models can also differ in thread and bracket requirements.

A generic Corbeau description is not enough for a mixed-brand order.

02 / Vehicle interface

The frame must be right for the car first

M2, PCI and other frames are vehicle-led products. Match the chassis, model year, driving side and installation notes. Then check the top of the frame: runners, cross-bars, side-mount spacing and supplied hardware.

A frame fitting the car does not guarantee that every seat fits above it.

03 / Compatibility

Compare drawings from the middle outwards

Check runner spacing and travel, side-mount base slots, seat hole position, bracket width and final height. Keep buckle and harness routes in the plan. Where a cross-brand combination is not listed, ask both the frame and seat supplier for written confirmation.

04 / Driver fit

A compatible bolt pattern can still make a poor installation

Place the driver at the wheel and pedals. Check helmet, shoulder, knee and door clearance. Wide shoulders or a low shell can contact the cage or tunnel even when the bracket holes line up.

Use the supplied hardware and instructions, then inspect the full runner movement before driving.

05 / Questions

Cross-brand mounting questions

Can a Corbeau seat fit an M2 frame?

Sometimes. Confirm the exact vehicle frame, its upper mounting arrangement, the Corbeau seat route and any required runners or side mounts.

Can a Corbeau seat fit a PCI frame?

Some combinations may work, but the exact PCI application and seat interface must be checked from current drawings.

Can I use another brand of side mount on a Corbeau seat?

Only where dimensions, threads and manufacturer requirements permit that exact combination.

What details should I send?

Vehicle, model year and driving side, plus every part number from the floor to the seat and clear photographs if any parts are already fitted.

Send the whole parts chain

We will find the uncertain interface

Give Garreth or Cameron the car, frame, runner, side mount and seat part numbers. One missing layer is usually where the problem sits.
