All New Mirco Carbon Bucket Seats Now Available
New range, November 2024
We have added a new range of Mirco bucket seats with a carbon fibre back shell. There are 14 models, and each one is a carbon version of a Mirco shape our customers already know, from the GT and WRC to the XL and the S3000.
They are made for track days, road cars and motorsport that does not call for FIA approved seats. They are not FIA homologated, and they are not lighter than the fibreglass versions, so it is worth knowing what they are and what they are not before choosing one.
- 14 new Mirco bucket seats with a carbon fibre back shell
- Carbon versions of existing Mirco shapes such as the GT, WRC, XL and S3000
- Carbon is laid over a fibreglass shell, so they are not lighter than fibreglass
- Not FIA homologated: for road, track day and non FIA events
- Seven standard colours or a bespoke colour, with diamond stitching and embroidery options

What is on this page
What the new range is
Mirco have built their name on fibreglass bucket seats in a wide range of shapes and sizes. The new range takes 14 of those shapes and gives them a carbon fibre back shell. The line up includes the GT Track Day, WRC, GTS, GTM, ST, LS, SX5, SX6, S2000, S3000, MX5 and XL, plus the GT and XL in vinyl and suede Diamond Edition trim.
Because each seat is a shape Mirco already make, the fit is familiar. If you have sat in a fibreglass Mirco GT or XL and liked it, the carbon version holds you in the same way. They are side mount seats, and they work with a four point harness.
Where they can and cannot be used
These seats are not FIA approved, and that decides where they belong. They suit:
- Track days, where a bucket seat holds you in place and improves your driving position.
- Road cars, where you want the support and the look of a motorsport seat.
- Non FIA events, where the rules do not ask for a homologated seat.
They are not allowed in events regulated by the FIA, or in any championship that asks for an FIA approved seat. For those, Mirco’s fibreglass FIA seats are the answer, and we have plenty of other FIA approved bucket seats in the range. If you are unsure, check your championship’s rules before choosing.
Why carbon, and what it does not change
Carbon fibre has a look of its own, and in a car with carbon trim or a bare interior, a carbon backed seat fits the build. That is the main reason to choose one of these over the fibreglass version.
What it does not do here is save weight. Each seat has a carbon fibre layer applied over a fibreglass shell, so the structure is the proven fibreglass one and the carbon is the finish. If weight is the priority, a fibreglass Mirco weighs no more. Garreth’s advice is to pick the carbon seat for the look and the shape, and not to expect a lighter car. Our guide to carbon bucket seat finish and what to expect covers how these shells look up close.

Colours and personal touches
Every seat in the range can be made to suit the car. The trim comes in seven standard colours, black, blue, grey, orange, red, white and yellow, and Mirco will do a bespoke colour on request. On top of that there are diamond stitching and embroidery upgrades, so you can have a name or a logo stitched in.
Mirco make the seats to order, so tell us the model, the colour and any extras, along with your height and waist size, and we will confirm the specification with you before it goes into production. The seats are side mount, so they need side mounts and a frame for your car, which we can put together at the same time.
Are the Mirco carbon bucket seats FIA approved?
No. They are for road, track day and non FIA use, and are not allowed where an FIA approved seat is required.
Are Mirco carbon seats lighter than fibreglass?
