What is new for 2025
The biggest change is the Civic. The FN2 three door, 2006 to 2011, now has a multipoint bolt-in cage with a choice of single or cross door bars, matching bolt-in rear cages, and a full CDS weld-in cage. The EP3 three door has a new multipoint bolt-in cage and rear cage, plus a CDS weld-in. The EK4 and EK9 gain a T45 weld-in cage alongside the existing CDS one.
The S2000 gets a 4 point bolt-in rear cage with a cross diagonal and harness bar. It works with a soft top or hard top, can keep the original seat belts, and its main hoop is designed to be used with the original seats. The factory roll hoops come out when it goes in. It is a road and track item, not for competition.
Every Honda listing now shows its cage number, the approval details and the exact vehicles it fits, so it is clear which cage suits your car.

Bolt-in or weld-in
Bolt-in cages go in without welding, using bolts through the floor. They can come out again, which suits a car that is used on the road as well as on track. On the multipoint Honda cages, the front cage must be used with the rear cage, while the rear cage can be used on its own. Door bars bolt to the rear cage.
Weld-in cages are welded into the shell. They are permanent and take more work to fit, and they suit a car built for competition. The FN2 weld-in, for example, has bent cross door bars, cross diagonals in the main hoop and backstays, front triangulation, windscreen reinforcement bars, a roof cross and a rear strut brace, with an optional front strut brace.
Most of the Honda cages are CDS steel. The EK4 and EK9 also have a T45 weld-in option, the lighter and more expensive tube. Garreth’s advice is to choose by the events you plan to do, and to read the rules for those events before ordering.
The options on each cage
Each listing sets out the choices for that cage. On the bolt-in cages you choose the rear cage design, a single diagonal or a cross diagonal, both with a harness bar, and whether to add door bars on one side, both, or neither.
Finish depends on the cage. Some come unpainted and oiled against corrosion, ready for you to paint. Others come powder coated black as standard, with grey, blue, silver, white and red available at extra cost.

A note on approvals
The approval is shown on each listing, and it differs from cage to cage. The multipoint bolt-in and CDS weld-in cages are described as complying with Motorsport UK regulations, with homologation only when the installation has been approved by Safety Devices. The S2000 rear cage is independently certified but not for competition use.
So if the car is going racing, check your championship’s rules and plan for the installation to be approved. We are a retailer, not a governing body, and we would rather you asked than guessed.
The full Honda range
Beyond the new cages, the range covers the Integra Type R DC1, DC2 and DC4 in bolt-in and weld-in forms, the Civic EG6, EK9, EF and older generations, the CRX, the NSX and the Prelude. You can see every one on our Safety Devices Honda roll cages page, and the full Safety Devices range covers many other makes. Send us your car’s details and we will help you pick the cage and options.
