Standard Cars, Road Cars, Modified Cars, Sports Libre and Racing Cars do not all carry the same minimum equipment. Start with the current class, then read Chapter 14 with Chapter 7.

Standard, Road, Modified and Racing categories differ
Chapter 14 Appendix 4 defines the speed-event vehicle categories and adds safety requirements to Chapter 7. The competitor remains responsible for eligibility. Read the current Motorsport UK NCR and the event documents before choosing equipment.
The seat and supports need a compliant installation
Chapter 7 Appendix 7 requires seats to be correctly located and securely anchored. It sets mounting requirements where original supports are changed and tells competitors to check manufacturer advice, suitability and installation instructions.
For an FIA 8855-2021 seat, use its approved support system.
Minimum belt requirements depend on category
Chapter 14 Appendix 4 refers competitors back to Chapter 7 and sets category-specific minima. Sports Libre and Racing Cars have stricter homologated-belt requirements than many Standard or Road Car cases. Junior provisions also differ.

Confirm unclear points before the event
Send the vehicle category, class, build and proposed seat and belt to the championship or event scrutineer. Keep labels readable and installation documents with the car. Inspect dates, supports, webbing and fasteners before presentation.

Do all hill-climb cars need a six-point harness?▾
No. Minimum belt requirements vary by vehicle category, and some categories have homologated-belt requirements.
Can I use standard seat mounting points?▾
Chapter 7 permits manufacturer standard points in relevant Series Production Cars, but the complete seat and class rules still apply.
Who can confirm my class requirement?▾
The event or championship officials and scrutineer apply the current rules to the vehicle.
