What Planted brackets are
Planted Technology is a family company in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, and their seat brackets are hand welded in Bellevue, Washington. They make one of the widest ranges of vehicle specific seat brackets there is.
Each frame is made for one car. It picks up the original seat mounting points in the floor, so the frame goes in where the standard runners came out, and the seat then bolts to the frame. The frames sit low, which is a big part of why people choose them.
Look closely at a Planted frame and you will see rows of slots and holes along each side and across the base. That is what makes them so adaptable: the same frame lines up with a wide range of side mounts and seat bolt patterns.
We use them with Recaro, Sparco, Corbeau, Cobra and plenty of other seats, whenever a customer wants the seat at exactly the right height.

Side mount, base mount and runners
A Planted frame works with both kinds of seat. A side mounted bucket seat bolts to a pair of side mounts, and the side mounts bolt to the frame. A reclining seat or a base mounted bucket seat bolts to the frame through the holes underneath.
If you want the seat to slide, a set of sliding runners goes between the seat and the frame. Our base mount or side mount explained guide shows the whole stack, and there is more on runners in our guide to seat sliding runners.

Finding the frame for your car
The frames in the showroom are only a small part of it. We list more than 300 Planted frames on the site, each one made for a different car. The easiest place to start is the Planted Technology range, sorted by make.
Garreth’s advice is to tell us the car, the year and the seat before you order, and we will confirm the frame and any side mounts it needs. If one of the in-store frames is right for you, it can go out the same day.
