Gravity Car Show 2022
Event news, July 2022
We have just been to Gravity 2022, one of the biggest car shows in the UK, organised by SlammedUK at Stoneleigh Park in the heart of Warwickshire. The show ran last year too, and once again it brought together modified, classic, race and supercars from the UK and further afield.
We spent the day walking the halls and the fields, and here are some of the cars and moments that stuck with us.
- Event: Gravity 2022, organised by SlammedUK
- Venue: Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire
- Cars: modified, classic, race and supercars
- Live action: The Shred Shed Live arena returned for 2022
- Awards on the main stage, from best wheels to Best of Show
- Best of Show: a classic pickup in metallic brown

The cars we liked
Gravity is a big show, spread across indoor halls and outdoor fields, and the variety is the best part. In one walk we went from stanced Japanese saloons to lowered classic BMWs, retro hot hatches and proper supercars, with trade stands in between.
The standard of the builds was high, and paint, wheels and ride height got most of the attention, as they usually do at a show like this.
This white Toyota Chaser was a good example of the Japanese cars on show: lowered, wide wheels with deep dishes, and a clean body kit that does not shout.
Out in the fields there was just as much to see. A lowered classic BMW 5 Series in gold on split rim wheels caught our eye, and there was a Jaguar XJ220 too.

Film inspired cars
We spotted a few cars styled on the ones from the early films in the Fast and Furious franchise. They captured the look that car enthusiasts loved in the early 2000s, with bright paint, big graphics and aftermarket everything, and it was good to see that era still has fans.
The Shred Shed Live
The live action arena, The Shred Shed Live, was back for 2022. Skilled drivers, one of them only 15, and driving teams competed against each other with drifts and stunts, and the arena was full of noise and tyre smoke from start to finish. For anyone who likes their cars sideways, it was the place to be.
Best of Show
Towards the end of the day the awards were handed out on the main stage, decided by the judges and by votes from the public. There were awards for wheels, interiors, wraps and paint, and for the best car in each category.
The main award, Best of Show, went to a beautiful classic pickup truck in a metallic brown paint, lowered over polished wheels. Garreth’s advice for anyone planning a show car is to make the interior match the rest of the build. If you are planning one, our common questions about bucket seats is a good place to start.
