A TRS FIA-rated harness built specifically for single-seater and open-frame cars. Part number 21F605. FIA 8853-2016 approved. Six-point layout with sub strap. Superlite: aluminium shoulder adjusters, steel lap. HANS Friendly. Aircraft rotary buckle. Bolt-in installation.

The single-seater version uses different mounting hardware from TRS’s saloon harnesses. Shoulder anchor points use 8mm fixing plates bolted through the roll hoop or monocoque structure, and the lap and sub straps use 8mm pinch plates. Most single-seater cars (Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Locost, similar) mount harness straps to the roll hoop rather than a conventional cage, and the 8mm hardware is sized for that installation. The standard saloon eyebolts (24E0340) use a 7/16″ UNF thread and do not apply here.

Strap widths: 3 inch (75mm) on the shoulders, tapering to 2 inch at the HANS attachment point, and 2 inch on the lap and sub. The taper is intentional, sized to suit a HANS device connection without excess bulk at the clip. Eight colour choices (no pink). Eyebolts are not included; this harness uses the bolt-in 8mm hardware rather than snap-hook clip-in.

If you are fitting this to a Formula Ford, Formula Vee, or similar, confirm your anchor point thread sizing is 8mm before ordering. Check your class regulations for the current FIA homologation requirements if the harness needs to pass scrutineering.

How long does an FIA harness last?
Every FIA harness carries a not-valid-after date on its label, and that date is what the scrutineer checks, not the purchase date. Our guide on how long FIA harnesses last explains the labelling and when replacement is due, and buying new gets you the freshest date the maker currently produces.

What does the strap width mean for me?
This is a 3 inch shoulder to 2 inch lap harness. The shoulder width choice interacts with whether you run a HANS device, and our guide on 3 inch versus 2 inch harnesses explains which to pick and why.

Do I need a HANS-specific harness?
This is a 6-point FIA harness, which is the only type that works with a HANS device. This one is the conventional cut rather than the HANS-specific pattern, so if you run a device, compare it against the HANS-pattern versions in the range or ask us which suits your setup.

What does it mount to?
A harness needs proper anchor points: a harness bar, cage, or the car’s designed mounting points, plus a seat with the right slots, and as a 6-point it needs each point anchored correctly. Tell us the car and seat and we will confirm the mounting plan before you order.

TRS harnesses are held in depth

TRS produce in batches and we take deliveries weekly, and we hold large stocks of their most popular models. Most orders go out the same day.

Less common models and colours are a different matter, and can take up to a few weeks.

Ring us before you order and we will check what is on the shelf and confirm the lead time, rather than leaving you to find out after checkout.
