The Mk1 Focus, built up to September 2004, was one of Ford’s most driver-oriented production cars: a chassis that impressed reviewers at launch and went on to anchor everything from the 170bhp ST170 to the 215bhp RS. The RS in particular built a strong club motorsport following, and aftermarket seat fitment became one of the first modifications owners turned to for circuit use. The Focus Mk1 floor has a shallow tunnel and specific mounting geometry that a generic universal frame does not address cleanly.
Part 865716 covers the Focus Mk1 built prior to September 2004. It uses the factory OEM floor points, requires no drilling, and positions the seat at the angle Recaro tested for this platform. Integrated sliding runners are included, keeping fore-aft adjustment. At £179, it is the more affordable end of the Recaro direct-fit range, which reflects the simpler bracket geometry on the Mk1 floor compared with later more complex mounts.
These frames work with Recaro base-mount reclining seats and base-mount bucket seats. Side-mounted competition shells need separate adaptor bars and are not covered by this kit. One frame per seat.
