KTR makes direct-fit subframes for the Renault Megane 2RS and 3RS. The frame uses the car’s original floor mounting points. What goes above it still depends on the seat, runners and mounts you choose.
Choose the KTR frame for the correct Megane generation first. Then send us the exact seat model. We can check whether it needs runners, adaption bars or side mounts and flag where K-Tec still calls for an installation check.
K-Tec says some seats may require modification depending on their size and manufacturer. A KTR frame can bolt directly to the Megane floor without making the seat above it a guaranteed bolt-on fit.
Start with the Megane generation
The 2RS and 3RS frames are separate even though they look much the same.
01Megane 2RS frame
For the second-generation Renaultsport Megane. Confirm the vehicle year and exact model before ordering.
02Megane 3RS frame
The third-generation Renaultsport Megane uses its own KTR frame. Do not substitute the similar-looking 2RS version.
03Either seating side
K-Tec lists the frame as non-handed. Plan the runner handle, buckle and other side-specific parts around the final installation.
Is it a 2RS or a 3RS? After that, the exact seat name matters more than the badge on its cover.
The old version of this guide treated a published bolt pattern as proof that several seat brands would fit. K-Tec does not make that promise. Its own instructions say seat size and manufacturer can change the work required.
That is why we check the car-to-frame connection and the frame-to-seat connection separately. It takes a little longer before ordering and saves a great deal of improvisation in the car.
Build the mounting stack from the floor upwards
Not every installation uses every part.
KTR vehicle frame
Choose the 2RS or 3RS product. This is the part that uses the original mounting points in the floor.
Runner, if required
Add a compatible runner when the seat needs fore-and-aft adjustment. Check its hole spacing and handle clearance.
Base-mount adaptor or side mounts
A reclining seat normally mounts through its base. A side-mounted fixed shell needs side mounts and may need adaption bars.
The exact seat
Check its inner fit for the driver and its outer width against the tunnel, door, centre console and belt buckle.
Fasteners and buckle provision
Use the correct grade, length and washers for each connection. Plan the original buckle or competition belt installation at the same time.
A direct-fit frame solves one junction. We still want to know which seat is going on top of it before we call the job complete.

Do not use a 345 mm figure as a blanket compatibility rule. It may describe one pair of holes in part of the mounting stack, but it does not prove that the complete seat, runner and frame combination works.
Send us the product link or manufacturer code for the seat. “An OMP bucket” or “a Sparco recliner” is not specific enough.
Measure the driving position in the Megane
A frame can fit the floor while the finished seat position remains wrong.

- Steering wheel and pedal alignment
- Helmet clearance at the planned seat height
Do not assume
- The 2RS and 3RS frames interchange
- Every seat brand uses one bolt pattern
- Runners are included automatically
- Non-handed means every other part is non-handed
- Direct fit means no installation work
K-Tec says the frame can be used on either side, but the car around it is not perfectly symmetrical once the belt buckle, centre console and controls are considered. Check the position you are actually fitting.
Treat it as a safety-critical installation
Use a competent installer when drilling, adapting or changing the original restraint arrangement.
Seat strength, fasteners, belt routing, airbags, warning systems and vehicle inspection remain separate checks. Motorsport hardware does not automatically make a road installation legal or suitable for an event.
Before tightening anything, sit the driver in the provisional position and check the wheel, pedals, helmet and belt path. Confirm that adjustment cannot bring the seat or runner into contact with the tunnel, buckle or wiring.

Does a KTR subframe make every bucket seat fit a Megane?▾
No. The KTR frame deals with the connection to the car floor. The seat still needs a compatible runner, base-mount pattern or side-mount arrangement. K-Tec also warns that some seats may need modification, depending on their size and manufacturer.
Are the Megane 2RS and 3RS frames the same?▾
