We supplied one of our customers with a pair of Corbeau Pro Series X System 3 bucket seats for their track prepared Seat Ibiza Mk3, the 6L. The car has a full roll cage, and the seats went in on Corbeau fitting frames.
The blue shell, the cage and the black seats make for a tidy cabin, and the seats suit the car well. Here is what went in and why.

The car
This is a third generation Ibiza, the 6L, prepared for the track. The interior has been taken back to the painted shell, and a full roll cage runs through the cabin.
In a car set up like this, the seat has one job: hold the driver still. A shell that fits properly, mounted solidly, means you are not bracing yourself against the car through every corner, and you can concentrate on driving it.
The Corbeau Pro Series X System 3
The Pro Series X is Corbeau's FIA competition seat without head protection: the shell stops at shoulder height. That makes it a good fit in tight cabins and cars with a fixed cage, where a seat with head wings can foul the bars.
The System 3 is the Carbon and Kevlar version of the shell, lighter than the Kevlar and glass fibre System 1. It is approved to FIA 8855-1999, has five harness slots, a HANS zone at the shoulder and a split front leg cushion, and suits drivers under 6ft with a 32 to 36 inch waist.

Fitting them to the Ibiza
The Pro Series X is a side mounted seat, so it needs side mounts and a frame for the car. The customer’s seats went in on Corbeau frames and side mounts, which line up with Corbeau’s own mounting points. Using fitting parts designed for the seat and the car is the safest way to get the seat solidly mounted at the right height.
Frames differ between Ibiza generations, because the floor mounts are not in the same place on the Mk1, the 6K and the 6L.
