We’re excited to announce a brand-new addition to our showroom. For the first time, GSM Performance is now working directly with Motordrive, and their latest range of FIA-approved motorsport seats has officially arrived at our showroom.
We’ve recently created a dedicated Motordrive display area at the front of our showroom, allowing customers to see and compare the latest Club Race and Club Pro seat models in person. Even better, we’re displaying each model in all three available sizes, giving customers the opportunity to compare the Standard, Large, and XL versions side by side.
For drivers looking for FIA-approved motorsport seating that combines quality construction, modern safety features, and excellent value for money, the Motordrive range is already making a strong first impression.
Whether you’re building a track day car, rally car, race car, or simply researching your next seating upgrade, these new arrivals give customers another excellent motorsport seat option to compare against some of the biggest names in the industry.
One of the biggest advantages of adding Motordrive to our showroom is that customers can now physically compare the different shell sizes and seat designs before buying. Choosing a motorsport seat based on dimensions alone can be difficult, especially when every driver’s build is different. Being able to sit in the Standard, Large, and XL versions allows customers to quickly understand which size provides the best fit around the hips, shoulders, and legs.
The arrival of the Motordrive range also strengthens our growing collection of FIA-approved motorsport seating. The Club Race and Club Pro models offer a different approach to some of the more established brands, providing strong levels of support, multiple sizing options, and comfort-focused Classic variations that many drivers will appreciate. This makes them an excellent option for customers who may have struggled to find the right fit elsewhere.
As with all of our showroom display seats, customers are welcome to spend time comparing the Motordrive range against other models we have on display. Whether you’re looking for your first FIA-approved bucket seat or upgrading an existing setup, having the opportunity to test different seats side by side can make a huge difference when making the right choice.
Motordrive is a UK-based motorsport manufacturer with decades of experience supplying safety equipment and motorsport products to racers, track day enthusiasts, and professional teams.
The company has built its reputation around producing practical, well-engineered motorsport products that focus on safety, durability, and real-world usability. Their product range includes racing seats, harnesses, steering wheels, racewear, and motorsport accessories designed to meet the demands of both amateur and professional motorsport competitors.
What immediately stood out to us about Motordrive is their commitment to creating FIA-approved products that remain accessible to a wide range of drivers. Their seats offer many of the features customers expect from premium motorsport brands while maintaining excellent value for money.
The company has continued to develop its seating range in recent years, introducing multiple sizing options and improved comfort features that help cater for a much wider range of drivers than many traditional motorsport seat manufacturers.
At GSM Performance we’re always looking to expand our showroom with products that genuinely offer something different for our customers.
The Motordrive range immediately caught our attention because it fills an important gap in the market. Many FIA-approved motorsport seats are designed around a relatively narrow range of driver sizes, often leaving larger drivers struggling to find suitable options.
Motordrive has approached this differently by offering both the Club Race and Club Pro models in Standard, Large, and XL sizes. This allows drivers to choose a seat that fits their body shape properly rather than simply settling for the closest available option.
We were also impressed by the overall quality of the seats. The shell construction, trim materials, stitching quality, and attention to detail are all excellent, especially considering the value these seats offer compared to many competing FIA-approved models.
Most importantly, these seats provide customers with another opportunity to physically sit in, compare, and test different seat sizes before purchasing, something that can make a huge difference when selecting a motorsport seat.
Motordrive keeps its seat range relatively simple, making it easy for customers to understand the differences between each model.
The range centres around two primary seat designs:
Both seats feature FIA approval, fibreglass shell construction, harness compatibility, and integrated head protection suitable for serious motorsport applications.
Each seat is available in Standard size, Large size, and XL size.
This allows the same seat design to cater for a much wider range of drivers while maintaining the same overall styling and safety features.
Alongside the standard versions, both seats are also available in Classic specifications. These versions add enhanced lumbar support, larger knee cushions, and additional comfort-focused upgrades for drivers who spend extended periods behind the wheel.
This gives customers the flexibility to choose between a pure motorsport-focused seat or a more comfort-oriented variation depending on how the vehicle will be used.
The Motordrive Club Pro is designed for drivers who want a traditional FIA-approved motorsport bucket seat without integrated head supports. This makes it a popular choice for track day cars, club motorsport builds, rally cars, and fast road projects where additional head containment is not required.
The seat uses a lightweight fibreglass shell construction that provides excellent rigidity and support while helping keep overall vehicle weight down. Its shape features deep side bolsters around the hips and legs, along with supportive shoulder bolsters that help keep the driver firmly positioned during hard cornering and braking.
The brushed fabric trim is durable and comfortable, while the suede-effect shoulder panels help reduce driver movement within the seat. The overall design strikes a great balance between support, comfort, and accessibility, making it suitable for a wide range of motorsport applications.
Key features
The Club Pro Classic takes the standard Club Pro platform and adds several comfort-focused upgrades without changing the overall shape of the seat.
The most noticeable additions are the enhanced lumbar support and larger knee cushions, which help improve comfort during longer driving sessions. These upgrades make the seat particularly appealing for endurance events, longer track sessions, and drivers who spend extended periods behind the wheel.
The Club Pro Classic retains the same FIA approval, shell construction, and harness compatibility as the standard model while providing a more comfortable seating position for drivers who want a little extra support during longer journeys.
The Motordrive Club Race is the more motorsport-focused option within the range and features integrated head support for additional protection. This makes it particularly well suited to race cars, rally cars, and vehicles fitted with full roll cages where head containment becomes increasingly important.
The wrap-around head protection wings help reduce head movement during impacts and provide additional safety when used alongside modern motorsport safety equipment. The shoulder support design is also more aggressive than the Club Pro, helping keep the driver securely positioned during high-speed cornering and heavy braking.
Like the Club Pro, the Club Race uses a lightweight fibreglass shell construction and durable brushed fabric trim with suede-effect shoulder panels. The result is a seat that offers high levels of support, protection, and FIA-approved safety for more serious motorsport applications.
Key features
The Race Classic combines the additional safety benefits of the Club Race with a number of comfort-focused upgrades.
Like the Pro Classic, it receives enhanced lumbar support and larger knee cushions, helping reduce fatigue during longer periods in the seat. This makes it particularly attractive for drivers competing in endurance-style events or anyone looking for a head-supported seat that offers a little more comfort without compromising safety.
The Race Classic retains the same FIA approval, integrated head protection, and fibreglass shell construction as the standard Club Race while providing a more refined seating experience for long-term use.
Choosing between the Motordrive Club Pro and Club Race mainly comes down to how your vehicle is used and the level of support and protection you require.
The Club Pro is the more traditional motorsport bucket seat in the range. Without the integrated head support wings, it offers easier access in and out of the seat and a slightly more open feel around the upper body. This makes it a great option for track day cars, club motorsport builds, hill climb cars, sprint cars, and fast road projects where you want FIA-approved safety and strong driver support without the additional bulk of a head-supported design.
The Club Race takes things a step further by incorporating integrated head protection. This style of seat has become increasingly popular in modern motorsport because it helps provide additional protection around the head and helmet area. For drivers competing in circuit racing, rallying, endurance events, or using vehicles fitted with full roll cages, the added head support can be a major advantage. It also helps keep the driver’s head more stable during high-speed cornering and sudden changes in direction.
Another factor to consider is vehicle fitment. While both seats are available in Standard, Large, and XL sizes, the integrated head support on the Club Race naturally creates a larger overall shell. In most race and track cars this isn’t an issue, but it’s always worth checking available space around roll cage bars, door apertures, and interior trim before making a final decision.
The Classic versions of both seats are aimed at drivers who spend long periods behind the wheel. The upgraded lumbar support and larger knee cushions provide additional comfort without changing the seat’s core design or FIA approval. These upgrades can make a noticeable difference during longer track sessions, endurance racing events, or drivers who simply prefer a more supportive seating position.
In simple terms:
One of the biggest advantages of our new Motordrive display is the ability to compare every size option in person.
Rather than guessing which size may suit you best, customers can sit in the Standard, Large, and XL versions and immediately feel the differences in shoulder width, hip width, and overall seating position.
This is especially important with FIA motorsport seats, where proper fitment plays a huge role in both comfort and safety.
Being able to directly compare the entire range side by side helps remove much of the uncertainty that often comes with buying a motorsport seat online.
The arrival of Motordrive marks an exciting addition to our growing motorsport seating range. Their combination of FIA-approved safety, multiple sizing options, quality construction, and excellent value makes them a very appealing option for a wide range of drivers.
Whether you’re looking for your first motorsport seat, upgrading an existing setup, or searching for a seat that finally fits properly, the new Motordrive collection gives customers even more choice than ever before.
With the full Club Race and Club Pro ranges now on display in Standard, Large, and XL sizes, there’s never been a better opportunity to compare the seats in person and find the model that best suits your build and driving requirements.
