It’s been a long wait, but the first wave of Recaro bucket seats for 2025 has finally landed at GSM Performance! This fresh delivery marks a significant milestone for both us and Recaro, as it’s the first batch we’ve received since Recaro restructured and relocated its motorsport seat production from Germany to Italy.
We’ve just received five Recaro Pole Position ABE fibreglass bucket seats, and it’s fantastic to see these iconic seats back in our showroom. After a period of silence following the production pause in late 2023, it’s a relief – and a big step forward – to see new Recaro stock making its way to dealers. These seats will be carefully quality checked in-store before being dispatched to fulfill long-standing back orders from 2024. To everyone who’s been patiently waiting, we appreciate your understanding, and we’re glad to finally get closer to getting your Recaro seat on the way.
Recaro Motorsport Production Returns Under New Italian Management
In early 2024, Recaro announced a strategic shift in their motorsport division, moving production from Germany to Italy under new ownership. This move came with challenges, including temporary disruptions in seat availability and delays across Europe. However, by mid-2024, sources including Motorsport.com and Speedweek confirmed that the transition had been completed and production resumed. Recaro’s Italian facilities are now operational, and manufacturing has restarted for several key models — including the Recaro Pole Position ABE.
This is excellent news for the motorsport community. With the production pipeline reopened, we expect lead times to start improving, and we’ll be able to better support customers with incoming stock throughout the rest of the year. The return of these premium seats to our showroom is a clear sign that things are moving in the right direction.
