The Porsche 928 ran from 1978 to 1995 and was the car Porsche designed to replace the 911. The 928 carries a front-mounted V8 engine rather than the rear-mounted flat-six of the 911, and the weight distribution, close to 50/50 in its best-balanced forms, gives it quite different dynamics. The later S4 and GTS variants with the 5.4-litre engine are genuinely fast grand tourers, and the 928 sees occasional use in hillclimb and sprint events. The cockpit is wider and lower than the 911 of the same period, and the seat fixing positions reflect a design that was targeting a different type of driver.
This Corbeau sub-frame is matched to the 928’s floor fixing layout. The front-engined rear-wheel-drive configuration places the transmission tunnel and floor geometry in a different position from the 911/964/993 family, so those sub-frames are not appropriate here. The kit uses the original bolt points and may be a complete replacement frame with sliding runner or adaptation brackets depending on the specific configuration.
