Discover Our OMP Classic Bucket Seat Line-Up
If you’re restoring a classic car or piecing together a retro-styled project, finding the right bucket seat is a big part of getting the interior right. That’s where the OMP Classic range comes in. This line-up brings together three unique models that combine period styling with modern construction. Whether you’re after a traditional low-back seat or a tall vintage-style shell with a detachable headrest, each option has been carefully designed to complement older interiors while delivering more support and durability than most factory-fitted seats from decades ago.
At GSM Performance, we stock and showcase all three OMP Classic bucket seats in our showroom. You can view them side by side, compare sizes, and test the feel of each design in person. With different heights, stitch patterns, and trim combinations, there’s something here for every era and every kind of build, from early hot hatches and fast-road classics to full vintage track projects.
This blog covers what makes each seat different, their key features, who they’re best suited for, and how they fit into vehicles using the standard 345mm base mount layout. Whether you’re just starting a build or fine-tuning your interior, these seats are a reliable, stylish choice worth considering.
Why Choose Classic Bucket Seats for Your Build?
Classic bucket seats are all about blending modern comfort with timeless looks. Whether you’re restoring a ’70s sports car, a vintage saloon, or something more custom, the right seat makes a big difference. These seats maintain the character of older interiors with period-correct materials, stitching, and silhouettes, while offering more support than original worn-out factory seats.
Pairing a classic seat with the right trim and shape creates a cohesive interior that doesn’t feel out of place. You keep that authentic retro atmosphere without sacrificing too much comfort. These seats are also a popular upgrade for owners who want to preserve the vintage look while enjoying modern construction, better materials, and improved driver positioning.
OMP Classic 1970s Revival Vintage Bucket Seat
This is the tallest and most commanding seat in the OMP classic range. The design takes clear inspiration from motorsport seats of the 1970s, featuring a fixed back and a high-rise shape for more head and shoulder support. A matching detachable headrest is included as standard.
The seat features a split-trim layout with soft velour across the centre and smooth vinyl across the bolsters and outer shell. This combination gives the seat a retro two-tone look while offering extra grip and support through the middle section.
Key features:
- Split-trim design with velour centre and vinyl outer
- Detachable matching headrest
- High backrest for added shoulder support
- Strong steel frame construction
- Base mount only, 345mm bolt pattern
- Ideal for vintage race car builds or tall classic interiors
OMP Silverstone Classic Bucket Seat
The Silverstone is the most compact seat in the range and the only one with a low-back, headrest-free design. It offers a clean and traditional look for older sports cars and classic hatchbacks where seat height is limited.
The standout design detail here is the horizontal stitched pleating across the centre section and the tall side bolsters that run up the backrest. These offer excellent lateral support while maintaining a simple vintage silhouette.
Key features:
- Retro low-back bucket seat without headrest
- Lateral stitched pleating across the centre
- Compact footprint, narrow width
- Large side bolsters for driver support
- Base mount only, 345mm bolt pattern
OMP Brands Hatch Classic Bucket Seat
This model balances classic styling with a comfortable shape and soft trim. It features a fixed backrest with a detachable headrest and a visually striking diamond-stitched vinyl outer trim. The centre is finished in a smooth velour for a soft and period-correct feel.
The Brands Hatch model sits between the Revival and Silverstone seats in height and width, making it a great all-rounder for most retro builds. It keeps the vintage look but adds a little luxury with the cross-stitch details and soft-touch centre.
Key features:
- Diamond-stitched vinyl sides with velour centre
- Detachable matching headrest
- Mid-height profile with comfortable back support
- Base mount only, 345mm bolt pattern

Seat Dimensions and Driver Fitment
All three OMP classic bucket seats share similar internal dimensions and are a compact fit by modern standards. They are all quite narrow at the hips, making them most suitable for drivers with a 30 to 34-inch waist. Where they differ is in height and overall external width.
- Silverstone: The shortest and narrowest seat in the range, perfect for tight cockpits
- Brands Hatch: Sits in the middle for both height and width, a good all-round option
- 1970s Revival: The tallest and widest base, suited to slightly roomier cabins
Despite these differences, all three seats feel similar at the hips and offer consistent support, thanks to their common foam density and steel frame structure.
Mounting and Installation Options
All OMP Classic bucket seats use a 345mm wide bolt pattern on the underside of the seat base. This is a standard layout that matches sliding runner kits and sub-frames from top brands like OMP, Sparco, and Corbeau.
If you’re planning a fixed mounting setup, you can bolt the seat directly to a base frame using the correct holes. If you want adjustability, you can pair them with a compatible sliding runner kit.
Avoid frames and mounts from brands like Cobra, as these use a 291mm wide bolt pattern and won’t line up unless you use adaptation bars. These seats are base mount only, which means side mounts are not compatible with any of the OMP classic models.
