MOMO originated in 1964 when an Italian race car driver Gianpiero Moretti commissioned a local craftsman to produce a custom steering wheel for his own race car which was superior to other steering wheels at the time. This Wheel gained attraction and popularity with other drivers and MOMO (short for Moretti Monza) started manufacturing and grew from then onward.Â
