Which side mounts to use? We strongly recommend you only use the correct side mount for the correct seat. If you have a Cobra Imola bucket seat as shown in these photos, we recommend using a Cobra side mount to make sure fitment is 100% perfect. By using the correct branded products fitment will be straight forward and all bolt holes will line up for easy fitment to your bucket seat.

How to bolt them to your car These are fixed positioned items to create an extremely secure and safe seating position. They will need to be custom fitted into the chassis of the car. Side mounts are commonly and primarily used for competition use for this reason. They are FIA approved when fitting bucket seats or racing seats to a vehicle. These are also MOT legal.

Can I use them with reclining sport seats? Reclining sport seats are commonly based mounted and require subframes for fitment and not side mounts. More about fitting reclining sport seats can be found by click this link to our fitting frames explained guide.

What adjustments are available? Side mounts do not allow the bucket seat to slide backwards or forwards. When using side mounts to fit your bucket seats or race seats some adjustments are available though. Most of the side mounts we supply from the Momo seats side mounts to Cobra Seats side mounts have multi hole height and angle adjustment so you can alter the seat to your personal needs.

If you do not want to drill into your chassis to fit these side mounts and bucket seats and you want the standard back and forth sliding movement. Please find an example photo of a car prepared to take a set of side mounted seats. 2 bars run across the floor with fitment plates allowing side mounts and side mounted seats to be securely bolted down. You can see the drivers seat is already fitted using this system and the passenger side is completed and ready for the seat.
