SportSeats4u.co.uk supplies a huge range of bucket seats which can be fitted into almost any vehicle.
A bucket seat is the opposite of a reclining car seat. It has no tilting mechanism built into the seat, instead it is a solid fixed back or usually 1 piece seat with a fixed non-adjustable position.
The photos on this page show a range of bucket seats available from the Cobra Evolution to the Sparco Rev Plus.
Why choose a bucket seat?
Bucket seats provide the most support and strength with any sport seats available on the market. This allows a user to pick the right seat for their needs depending on their level of race activity. There are several levels of bucket seat from budget seats to competition FIA approved seats.
By creating a solid 1 piece seat it allows manufacturers to make something much stronger, much more rigid and to build a seat completely around the goal of keeping you in 1 piece if there is an accident while racing. Strength and safety are paramount when it comes to bucket seats.
Rear access and 2/3 door cars
If you drive a small hatch back like a Peugeot 106 or a Renault Clio then upgrading to a bucket seat is only advised if you do not require easy access to the rear of the car or if you have alternative means.
Bucket seats due to their lack of movement have less flexibility and practicality than a reclining sport seats. We advise thinking about this before purchasing one and we strongly recommend reclining seats for smaller road cars. (This does not apply for track or race cars)
Can I use them with harness belts?
Bucket seats are specially engineered to allow the use of harness belts from 3 point belts threw to 6 point belts. The type of belt you require will depend on the type of driving and requirement you have.
Bucket seats are the perfect seat for those wanting a race look on the street or on the road and harnesses add that added security, support and style.
Can i use them for racing?
If you are looking at taking part in track days or fast road use then the bucket seats we have available are the perfect choice.
If you are looking at competing at a higher level we recommend that you check if they need to be FIA approved. Then pick which bucket seat works best for you. There are a vast range which work well for drag racing to drifting and we are more than happy to always point you in the right direction.
